Initially, a few well-placed strokes may suffice to achieve your goal. However, as you progress through the game, the situations become increasingly intricate.
To maneuver the water, simply utilize the pencil at hand to sketch lines and shapes. Remember, the preexisting elements in each level hold significant importance. Why? Because you cannot draw on them, meaning they can obstruct your attempts to draw certain lines. Furthermore, your score is determined by the amount of ink used. Minimal ink usage earns you three stars, whereas excessive ink results in only one star.
